Tropical Paradise at Lake Placid Public Library, Feb 24th
Dear Homeschool Families,
This is a reminder that our Homeschool Thursday program will be next Thursday, February 24th at 10:00 a.m. in the basement of the St. Eustace Church. Our theme will be TROPICAL PARADISE, perfect for a cold day in February! Students will explore topics such as fiction vs. nonfiction, weather vs. climate, and tropical vs. polar through a read aloud and hands-on activities. As always, there will be books to check-out and numerous ideas for extended learning at home. Although not necessary, let me know if you plan on joining as it gives us a rough idea for set-up and supplies.

Upcoming Lake Placid Library programs
Dear Homeschool Families,
We’ve decided to switch our Homeschool Thursday program, MAGIC, scheduled for January 27th to Thursday, February 3rd at 10:00 a.m. in the basement of St. Eustace Church. This will give us one more week to monitor the COVID situation in our community. Instead of our typical program on January 27th, we’ll host drop-in hours from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. so families can come at their leisure, ensuring social distancing. As usual, Karen and I will be available for help with book selection, research projects, etc. We will also have subject-area stations highlighting books, activities, and free project supplies for children of all ages and abilities. I’ll send email reminders, but just wanted to let you know in advance.
Stay well,

Dear Homeschool Families,
I just want to remind everyone that our January Homeschool Thursday Drop-In Program at the library is tomorrow, January 6th, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. – 2 p.m. As usual, Karen and I will be available for help with book selection, research projects, etc. We will also have subject-area stations highlighting books, activities, and free project supplies for children of all ages and abilities. A few of our families expressed an interest in books/projects to help with telling time, so we’ve arranged a special section for that tomorrow.

Next Lake Placid Library Program, Dec 2, 2021
From the Lake Placid Library Homeschool Thursdays program:
I just want to remind everyone that there will be no Homeschool Thursday next week as we are closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. In addition, please note that due to the December school holiday break, we are only conducting one Homeschool event in December and that will be a program on the first Thursday, December 2nd at 10:00 a.m. in the basement of St. Eustace Church. Our program theme will be The Art of Writing Letters! There will be something for everyone, so don’t worry if your children aren’t writing their ABCs yet. I’ll send an email reminder the first week of December, but just wanted you to mark your busy calendars now.
Also, I don’t know if you know about Buddy the Elf who visits local businesses around the holidays, but we have the opportunity to invite him for a quick visit during that program as long as everyone is ok with that. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me privately.
Happy Thanksgiving!
