No Back to School Picnic *UPDATE*

****Due to the weather forecast, the annual “No Back to School” picnic is being moved to Thursday September 14th****

On Thursday September 14th we will meet up at Buck Pond Campground for the “No Back to School Picnic” at 10am. The campground will be closed so just drive straight in all the way to the end to get to the beach area. Bring your lunch, sunscreen, and whatever you need for the weather that day. There is usually a great game of capture the flag and swimming if the weather is warm. Bring whatever you would like to play or do. Everyone is welcome. Hope to see you there.

Book Swap 9/12/2023 @ Kate Mtn Park

The North Country Climate Club is hosting a book swap on Tuesday, September 12 from 3-6pm in the pavilion at Kate Mtn Park in Vermontville.

The climate club members will be meeting there from 3-4pm (new members always welcome) before moving on to homeschool soccer (signups have ended). Books will be out for the taking until 6pm.

Everyone is invited to bring your curriculum, all genres of books, puzzles, games, etc… and maybe take a few “new” ones home as well.

The North Country Climate Club would be happy to take any leftovers and get them into the local Little Free Libraries and thrift stores on your behalf.

Wild Center Homeschool Days in Sept and Oct 2023

FALL HOMESCHOOL DAYS 2023

September 15 & October 13 from 10am to 5pm

Bring the homeschool experience to The Wild Center and immerse yourself in STEAM-based nature learning like never before. This year we are offering provide homeschool experiences, events and activities catered specifically for you.

Homeschool families are welcome to participate in private Wild Classroom Workshops, meet our animal ambassadors, and stop by the Naturalist Cabinet for science and art-based activities. Homeschool Days are open to students of ages 5-17 learning from home and their families.

ADK Fall Homeschool Program – registration required

The Adirondack Mountain Club will be running another homeschool program this fall. This time we are running it as a series of three classes which are built on each other. Our theme for the series is Adirondack ecosystems. We will spend time exploring forest and wetland ecosystems and investigate what keeps them healthy. The age range is 5-12 and each class will be three hours long.
