Join The Wild Center for 6 Adirondack field trips with naturalists and scientists to expand your connections to Adirondack woods and waters. Explore nature, use scientific tools, and connect with local STEM resources. Local families with children ages 8-11 are welcome!

This was a popular, free, multi-week program last year for 1 adult, and 1 child (ages 8-11). Participants came from a wide geographic area and families got to know each other and the naturalists well. Deadline to apply: April 2, 2025. https://www.wildcenter.org/familyscienceseries/

Conditions at the Paul Smith’s VIC will likely still be good on Tuesday March 18

Hi Homeschool Ski Families! We skied at the VIC yesterday and today and conditions really didn’t change from one day to the next, despite these warm temperatures. There is still a TON of snow on all trails. We stuck a pole in next to the trail and it still went down 18 inches. I have a feeling it will still be quite skiable this coming Tuesday 3/18, but because of the freezing temperatures on Monday night, I think we’ll want to let it warm up first to soften the snow. I think that by 12pm on Tuesday it will probably be great out there.
